A&A Records and Tapes was the dominant record chain in Canada up until Sam The Record Man's stores began their expansion. A&A was founded as a book shop just after World War II and added a record department in the 1960's. They eventually became a full time record shop and began expanding with other stores opening around Canada in the late sixties. Sadly, they went out of business in 1993.
