Reggae star and producer Lee "Scratch" Perry started his own record label, Upsetter Records in 1968 and at the same time, opened the Upsetter Record Shop in Kingston as a place to sell the records he was producing. Some of the earliest and greatest reggae came through this shop which closed in 1978.
